Physical Therapist

Willow Valley is hiring a Physical Therapist to be plan, organize and administer medically prescribed Physical Therapy programming in all levels of living for patients with chronic or acute injuries, muscle, nerve, joint or bone diseases, to increase function, relieve pain, prevent disability and improve quality of living.
Responsibilities:
Directly supervises up to three Physical Therapist Assistants.
Oversees Physical Therapy Students, Therapy Aides, Volunteers and PRN Physical Therapy staff.
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
Responsibilities include training Team Members; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining Team Members; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Models exemplary customer service and models care, compassion and trust toward Team Members and Residents.
Administers active and passive manual therapeutic treatments, including heat, light, sound, water, and electrical or physical agent modality treatments such as but not limited to ultrasound, electrical stimulation, ultraviolet, infrared, diathermy, and hot and cold packs to improve and maintain function.
Reviews physician's referral (prescription), patient's condition and medical records to determine physical therapy treatment required.
Tests and measures patient's strength, joint range of motion, motor development, muscle tone, sensory and perception awareness, functional capacity, respiratory and circulatory efficiency, and records findings to develop or revise treatment programs.
Plans and prepares written plans of care based on evaluation of patient data.
Administers traction to relieve neck and back pain.
Instructs, motivates, and assists patient to perform various postural and mobility related physical activities and in use of assistive and supportive devices such as crutches, wheelchairs, walkers, canes, and prostheses.
Evaluates effects of treatment at various stages and adjusts treatments to achieve maximum benefit.
Administers massage.
Administers traction to relieve pain.
Records treatment, response, and progress in patient's chart.
Instructs patient and family in treatment procedures to be continued at home, if indicated.
Requisitions supplies and equipment.
Conducts in-services to staff in physical therapy techniques and objectives.
Evaluates, fits, and adjusts prosthetic and orthotic devices and recommends modification to Orthotist.
Confers with Physician and other practitioners to obtain additional patient information, suggest revisions in treatment program, and integrate physical therapy treatment with other aspects of patient's health care.
Orients, instructs, and directs work activities of physical therapy assistants, aides, and students.
Ability to work with other therapists, nursing staff, patients, and caregivers in coordinating patient care to optimize outcomes.
Demonstrates good organizational, time management, and planning skills.
Demonstrates good working knowledge of Prospective Payment Systems (PPS) and Minimum Data Set (MDS), Medicare Part B, and other applicable reimbursement systems.
Adheres to all applicable federal, state and local standards of care and ethics and policies concerned with the practice of physical therapy.
Attends meetings, seminars and participates in other activities to promote professional growth.
Completes timely clinical documentation to include functional goal-setting, program and therapeutic approach.
Completes billing/administrative documentation timely and accurately.
Completes Resident screens in conjunction with annual MDS schedule and in response to nursing reports/referrals.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree (B.
A.
) from an accredited physical therapy program at a four-year college or university.
Must be board certified and licensed by state.
Computer literacy required.
Hours:

Physical Therapy Schedule:
Full-time, Day, 8am to 4:
30pm, mainly M-F, with occasional weekend/holiday coverage; Plus POOL/PRN available.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
